Tracking the sun?
OK here is an idea to add to toe software.
If you could face the antenna mount to point and track the sun it should be possible to mount a small backpacking type solar panel. If it was constantly pointing right at the sun a smaller panel could be used to charge a battery.
Interesting idea, however its not possible with my app since it uses the SGP4 orbital model that does not work on the moon or the sun. You can read more here...

But you could easily make your own controller for the Satran, since it uses simple http queries for azimuth/elevation you could do something as simple as a website with javascript that calculates something and sends calls to the rotator in intervals.
However your idea seems a bit too expensive. There are easier ways to track the sun than with my "complicated" rotator.
